Young Life College (YLC) meets Tuesday evenings at the YL Office (818 Maiden Lane) from 6:30-8:00pm to share a meal, have some fun and explore what it looks like to follow Jesus. Additionally, YLC offers small groups and provides leadership and service opportunities.
Any college age students are welcome! Follow our instagram @younglifeuiowa for the most up-to-date information.
Please feel free to reach out to our Young Life College Director, Paul Delashaw, with any questions.
Young Life volunteer leaders are teachers, parents, college students, youth pastors, and old and young adults who participate in a full range of activities that help them build significant, often lasting, relationships with kids. Young Life leaders support, encourage, and simply care for teenagers as they navigate the world. Leaders tell kids about Jesus' love for them in terms that are meaningful to them and continue to care for them regardless of their response. Young Life leaders serve as tutors, mentors, fans in the stands, and friends who consistently show up.
The Young Life Committee is a group of local adults who are committed to providing every young person in their community the opportunity to hear about Jesus Christ in terms they can understand.
The Young Life Committee consists of a Chairperson or two Co-Chairpersons and 8-16 members who are divided into the following teams:
Prayer Team: pray for students, ministry, families, our community
Leader Care Team: encourage, feed, thank our volunteer leaders and staff
Engagement Team: engage with our donors as well as make connections in the community for various levels of ministry support
Event Team: plan and help execute area fundraisers and events (annual banquet, golf tournament, trivia night)
Committee members meet 8 times per year for encouragement, to meet and work as teams and to share progress. We ask for a two-year commitment and members may cycle off the committee at the end of their two-year term if they choose.
If you are looking for a way to use your God-given gifts and talents in a meaningful way, we’d love to connect with you.
